The festival has been taking place on the banks of Bayou St. John in Mid-City near the end of May for 6 years now. Local Artists were selling everything from jewelry to parasols. Typical to New Orleans, there was too much amazing food to choose from. By the end of the weekend we had tasted everything from jerked chicken to alligator sausage on a stick. The music filled the air, families and friends sat on blankets and danced to the beats. We saw Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Sandra Bullock and Wendall Pierce all enjoying the festival as "locals" sans paparazzi. It was a beautiful weekend and we made lots of new friends bonding over our shared love of music.
