Summer Arts Through Culture Program
Positive Vibrations Foundation hosted its first 2009 Summer Arts through Culture program in New Orleans. Selected candidates were awarded full fellowship grants and spent three weeks at the Lusher Charter School and Tulane University from June 1 through June 26, 2009. The program returned in June 2010 and 2011 with full fellowships being awarded to 16 enthusiastic young musicians from all across the United States and two international fellows from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Applications for the 2012 Fellowship Grant will be available on the foundation’s website in September 2011. The 2012 Summer Arts through Culture Program is expected to run from June 2 through June 29, 2012.
The Positive Vibrations Foundation will offer 15 full Fellowship Grants to youths ages 14 to 17 to attend the 2012 program. This includes a wide curriculum of Arts and Music Enhancement classes offered at the Lusher Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana. The foundation provides all tuition, local transportation and room and board at Tulane University as well as cultural enrichment programs relating to the heritage and history of New Orleans. The Foundation also shares in the cost of wholesome meals for the fellows for the month.
