Coco Robicheaux (born Curtis Arceneaux) passed away on Friday November 25, 2011. A staple of the Frenchmen Street scene, he could be seen on any given night of the week either performing or sitting on the bench outside of the Apple Barrel. He was also one of the founders of the Professor Longhair Foundation and sculpted the bronze FESS you see upon entering Tipitina’s Uptown. He was full of positive vibrations and will be dearly missed.
According to a status update on facebook posted by Chris “Shaggy” Davis, “Coco Robicheaux’s official second line to be held MON. DEC 12th starting on Frenchmen st at 3:30 pm & ending at the House of blues. Then there will be a night of music dedicated to coco from 6pm-till. For more info email coconola1 at hotmail dot com” We’ll update this post with more information as we receive it.
