Food bank desperate, running out of food
Harvest the Music’s free concert series takes places every Wednesday from 5:00pm – 7:30pm in Lafayette Square. Please, no outside food or drink. The concession sales keep the concerts free and help to raise much needed funds to fight hunger.
Proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana and its mission of fighting hunger across south Louisiana. The mission of Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana is to lead the fight against hunger in south Louisiana through food distribution, advocacy, education and disaster response.
Every Wednesday, Sept. 14th – Nov. 2nd, help Second Harvest Food Bank fight hunger by coming out to Lafayette Square for a free, concert featuring the best local,regional and national artists:

Sept. 28 Bonerama with Dave Malone of the Radiators Plus Alvin Youngblood Hart's Muscle Theory
Oct. 5 Irma Thomas and The Professionals Plus Soul Project
Oct. 12 Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue Plus Stooges Brass Band
Oct. 19 Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Jon Cleary's Philthy Phew
Oct. 26 Blind Boys of Alabama Plus Krown, Washington and Batiste
Nov. 2 Buckwheat Zydeco Plus Tommy Malone of the Subdudes with Ray Ganucheau
In addition to a free concert, concert-goers will enjoy food and drinks for purchase (no outside food or drinks, please) from local favorites including: Ye Old Kettle Cooker, Martin Wine Cellar, Crepes a la Cart, Miss Linda's Soul Food Catering, Lil Dizzy's Cafe, Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant, Oceana Restaurant, and Squeal, and the Second Harvest Food Bank Community Kitchen. An artists' village will feature artwork and crafts from regional artists and designers, all available for purchase.
